Oh look, the full picture from my banner!

Do you remember how you developed a love for reading?

My grandmother used to read to me every single day; she was a bookworm and she would read to me from whatever she happened to be reading as well as childrens books. From day one she started teaching me the magic of books.

Where do you usually read?

My bed. My desk. The train. Break-room at work. Stairs at work. Couch. Walking. My porch. Wherever I happen to plop i read.

Do you prefer to read one book at a time or several at once?

Only one, i don’t understand reading more than one at a time…I mean I sometimes put a book down because I dislike it but that is usually it, i don’t come back or if I do i start over.

What is your favorite genre?

Historical Fiction

Is there a genre you will not read?

Nope, anything as long as it’s written well.

Do you have a favorite book?

What kind of question is this? Do you have a favorite memory? A favorite part of your body? Ugh this question is unanswerable but I guess i could default to Fahrenheit 451 because I do love it and it’s about books. That or The  Three Musketeers.

What is your least favorite book?

The Princes in the Tower by Alison Weir.

What is the longest book you have ever read?

Maybe Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte or one of the A Song of Ice and Fire books by George R.R. Martin. Around 1000 pages is the longest I’ve got.

What was the last book you bought?

1984 by George Orwell

Do you prefer library books or buying books?

Buying. I love keeping books like some kind of hoarder so I end up just buying them from the library anyway because I never return them. Oops 😛

What are you currently reading?

. . . Nothing. I finished 1984 yesterday and today I’m probably not going to read but I will go through my roommates books to find something because I don’t have anything new just lying around.

Where do you buy your books?

Any place that sells books.

Do you ever pre-order books?

No.

How many books do you buy a month?

Not many, but this year I will probably buy at least 2 a month.

How do you feel about second hand charity shop books?

They are great. Sometimes they have writing or scribbles in them, or bits of paper; pieces of their past life. It’s wonderful!

Do you keep your read and to-be-read books together?

All of my books are everywhere. I need a larger shelf so some of them are living in totes and boxes in closets. So yes.

Do you plan to read all the books you own?

Yes. I only have a handful I haven’t read at least once because usually I start reading a book as I get it.

What do you do with books you own that you know won’t be re-read?

. . . I keep them. I admit I do not donate books, I rarely, if ever, give away books. I do not part with books. My name is Tarina and I am a book hoarder. There. It’s in the open now.

Have you ever donated books?

No. I have given some of my more child oriented books away over the years but for the most part I keep them all.

Have you ever been on a book buying ban?

Every time i walk into a store that sells books i impose one on myself, sometimes it works, sometimes i go home with a new books.

Do you think you own too many books?

What is “too many books”? I don’t understand.

  1. Wait, too many books? Is that A THING?!
I am so so so bad for having piles of unread books. I just buy any books that look interesting so I constantly have thirty to read haha. It’s a good life.

    • Yeah, i feel like I know all three of those words just not in that order lol
I do that too when i have the money, i see a book and if it’s pretty or interesting I have to have it! I am a bit worse in that I will buy books I already own if it’s different (if I own the paperback I’ll buy a hardcover, if it’s a different, pretty cover, etc.) so there are a few that I own multiple copies of 😛
