Decisions!

I have decided to participate in NaNoWriMo in November 2015 this year! I am also going to be participating in camp NaNoWriMo in April!

If you don’t know NaNoWriMo is National Novel Writing Month and I have always wanted to do this but I never did. But this year I looked at my unfinished stories sitting around and I said “Donoma, I’m going to finish you this November. Oh, and Helix, Nick i haven’t given up on you boys I’ll write your story in April”

I’M SUPER EXCITED!

This isn’t a real post. Just getting my excitement in a post.

PEACE

Tarina!

  1. Woot! I’m also doing NaNoWriMo this year. I did it last year for the first time (and won!). I’m also going to try the Camp NaNoWriMos in April and July, so we’ll see how they go. Good luck with your writing!

  2. I did it once, waaaaay back when I was still on the first draft of my first book. I was a few thousand words into it and decided to get to 50K by the end of the month. I never took part on the web or anything, it was just a deadline for me. And it worked! I’ve heard a lot of people say that the rushing can make a bad first draft, but all first drafts are bad, so as long as you take the time to edit it afterwards I think you can get a pretty good story!

    • I have always said i would do it but then never did. It wasn’t until i started watching Katytastic on YouTube that I got really excited for it.
I think I’m going to try Camp NaNoWriMo in April to write a new story I’ve been working on (It’s is directly related to Project Cliff Rose btw and you will be reading the second draft of it if I ever finish) and if I survive april and try in November I’m going to actually write Donoma. All of it.
I’m going ot get into the online and community aspects as encouragement.
And yeah, trying to make a ‘good’ first draft will prevent you from getting the whole story out. The point is just to get the words out. That’s my problem, i edit as i go (sometimes) and it slows me way down.

    • If i survive April and still want to write i might do it. I might end up doing both Camps and skipping November because November is the busiest time of year for me, last November I didn’t have a single day off of work (two jobs) until Thanksgiving so that’s not really conducive to writing.

      • Aw, yeah that’s tough to get around. I force myself to write when I get busy like that. November is the one of the busiest months for everyone, I think. Mostly because of the holidays coming up.
